Technical Business Analyst

How you'll succeed:

• Ensure business specifications/requirements documentation is accurately prepared and comprehensive to support sizing/development efforts and as input to various project documentation.

• Develop and deliver Business Requirements Documents, Design Documents, Use Cases, and Process Models as required.

• Proactively perform ad hoc project work and investigations, where needed.

• Liaising between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions that meet user needs.

• Participate in the development of detailed project plans, the monitoring of progress against planned objectives, the financial review, and securing consensus and co-operation from users and senior management.

• Work closely across teams during all stages of the system development life cycle and bridge the gap between business and technology sides of the solution.

• Demonstrate an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities.

• Build relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues in Global regions.

• Support production issues and handle escalations during Release cycles as needed.

 

Must-Have Skills:

• At least 5+ years’ recent experience as a BSA

• Recent hands-on experience writing and reading advanced SQL queries independently

• 5+ years’ experience data management and data analytics experience is required

• Banking experience and understanding of the industry is required

• SDLC knowledge is required

• Experience with Google Cloud usage and functions, other cloud experience is a plus

• Working knowledge of Python

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Retail product experience and associated risk models is an asset (PD,EAD, LGD models for Mortgage, Credit Card)

• Working knowledge of SAS, Informatica, or DataStage is an asset

• Database Systems: Hive/Hadoop, DB2 is an asset

• Well developed verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate and articulate the underlying message effectively with different audiences.

• Critical thinker, investigating, analyzing, and resolving complex problems.

• Ability to work effectively as a team member in cross-functional project teams.

• Passion for driving teams towards high performance and a deep pride in providing high quality results.

• Strong data analytic skillset for the purpose of data solutioning, testing/validation and gap analysis.

Degrees or certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required or relevant experience.
